What we do
At QC Charge we specialize and are experts in working with EV specific components on Electric Vehicles since 2013.

We can check your motor speed sensor for free at our headquarters.
Why would you want us to do that?
It is the easiest way we can see inside of your electric motor. By unplugging the speed sensor, we can see what may have come loose inside the motor or see if any coolant has leaked within your motor that can cause a catastrophic failure.
When the onboard charger fails, we can fix that.
Symptoms of a failed onboard vehicle charger:
-Car does not charge even when using different chargers and after you have check for conflicting charge timers
When you know you need new bearings, we can replace them
Symptoms of failing motor bearings:
-"Chirping" or "humming", especially at lower speeds
Note that if this is left unresolved, it may lead to the electric motor seizing up inside and may lead to a catastrophic failure.
Our custom engineered JdeMO kits will enable DC quick charging for specific vehicles.
How many miles/kms of range autonomy will JdeMO add?
Answer: JdeMO adds about 2.5 miles (4 km) per minute while charging between 20% and 80% battery State Of Charge (SOC%).
What kind of chargers can I use?
You will still be able to use the existing inlet/socket for charging, and additionally you will also be able to use any CHAdeMO charge station in the world (but not both at the same time). CHAdeMO is commonly known as the same quick charger used for the Nissan LEAF, KIA Soul EV or Mitsubishi iMiev.
Are there any limitations?
Answer: Yes, there are a few. Immediately after using a CHAdeMO station, the regenerative braking will be significantly reduced for 30 miles (50 km) up to 60 miles (100 km). Some people have reported even longer.
Also, there currently is not a method to lock the doors in the car while charging. There have been many suggestions of methods to do this, including using an aftermarket product called "OVMS" with your mobile phone, or an additional lock switch in the boot (that can be unlocked with a spare mechanical key)
How long does it take to install?

Upgrade from archaic Lead Acid Batteries to a Lithium-ion pack that will extend your range a couples times over and will require NO maintenance. Available SOON!

LEAF PACK for GEM® CAR
The box can hold 12 of the original 2011-2017 modules, or 6 of the later 2018+ modules.
All will be arranged in a “24S” configuration, capable of 96 volts. Includes mounting for BMS.
Designed to be “Plug-N-Charge” ready. But, if you want the full potential of the lithium LEAF PACK for GEM CAR, you should either get a new Onboard Vehicle Charger (like a DeltaQ programmed for a 96 volt pack), or have somebody reprogram the one that you already have. Replacing a 20 year old charger probably isn't a bad idea, anyway!!!
It will also require one small modification to one wire on the car, which we will provide all the information and parts to do. It's a 10 minute job for a pro, and a 30 minute job for others.
We will have a pricing shortly, but it will vary a LOT, depending on which LEAF modules are used. Expect about $1500 for the lower capacity cells and closer to $3000 for the higher capacity cells.
Capacity varies from 3 kWh-ish to up to 9 kWh, again, depending on which cells are used. Range in ANY vehicle is always a factor of stored energy and consumption rate.
Assuming a consumption rate of 3, 4, or 5 miles per kWh, and battery energy capacities of 3, 6, or 9 kWhs (when fully charged to 96 volts), then the range in miles will be:

Weight should be about 60 pounds, versus 360 pounds for lead acid batteries. Lots of room is freed up on the GEM car for storage, after you clean up the mess left by the former lead acid cells!
All versions will be capable of 96 volts, but it’s not required to charge that high. Lithium cells, unlike lead acid, are actually very comfortable being charged to lower values. 72 volts would be the lowest permitted (discharged with no energy remaining). It’s actually recommended that you only charge to 84-88 volts, if that’s all the energy you need on a daily basis.
Assuming your GEM is no longer limited to 25 mph, this battery will offer more power, higher speed, and quicker acceleration. Plus, you won’t be changing the batteries every year or three.The Battery Management System (BMS) will protect the cells from being fully discharged (which will damage the cells).
Unlike the conventional lead acid batteries in your GEM car, there is no corrosion, no dangerous hydrogen gas release while charging, no maintenance, they are a much lighter weight, much smaller physical size, there is more power, more range, etc.
Comparing the chemistry of Nissan LEAF cells to others lithium cells, they are EXTREMELY safe. You could shoot them, or hit them with a hammer, and they won’t ignite. Try that with a cell used in a Tesla!!!
Plus, we are recycling used Nissan LEAF batteries, it’s a win-win for everybody.
