Inverter Cover Storm Drain

The Inverter Cover Storm Drain is an original QC Part designed to address severe coolant intrusion issues that a Coolant Delete Kit alone cannot solve!

This system features a built-in reservoir and drain, which allows any remaining coolant to escape from the inverter housing. As you drive, the stator and rotor heat up any residual coolant trapped in the windings, leading to condensation. Our Inverter Cover Storm Drain eliminates the possibility of coolant intrusion damaging your LDU.

Additionally, the storm drain indicates when the rotor seal has failed. Dexron oil will leak from the gearset side of the LDU into the inverter side. While Dexron oil is non-conductive and won't harm the inverter, it deprives the gearset of oil and can cause catastrophic failure. Overheated gearsets warp without oil and can explode, resulting in irreversible LDU damage. If you see red Dexron oil coming out of your storm drain onto the floor, it's time for a rotor seal change.

Please note that a core exchange is required. A return label will be sent for the non-converted Inverter Cover Storm Drain. Failure to return your old inverter cover will incur a $500 non-refundable core charge.
